About Bill Gates, photographer

William R. Gates (Bill) is a self-taught photographer. He started photography when he purchased his first SLR film camera, a Minolta X700, in 1983. Since then his photography has won numerous awards.

His photos have been published in numerous newspapers and newsletters over the years. He is a Master of Photography in the Huntsville photographic Society, currently the highest level of attainment in the club.

Bill has displayed his photography in the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center, the Huntsville Branch of the Madison County (Alabama) Library, and the Huntsville/Madison County Visitors Center.
