About Mary Linville, artist
Mary
Linville is considered to be a prolific artist producing a wide
variety of subject matter. She is primarily a landscape artist,
but also does still life, birds, animals, character studies and
abstracts. Mary works in a variety of mediums, her favorite being
watercolor.
Mary is known for her paintings of local historical and favorite
places throughout the Quad-Cities. She has studied with many famous
artists, such as: Zoltan Szabo of North Carolina, Margaret Martin
of New York, Tony Couch, Bill Carter, Nita Leland, Edward Minchin,
Irving Shapiro and others. Mary has been a private instructor
as well as conducted workshops throughout the Southeast.
Her
love for art and excitement in finding a more creative way to
portray a subject shows in her work. She loves the use of color
and approaches it in a bold way.
