About Phyllis White, artist

I am an artist and freelance writer and native of Florence, Alabama. I majored in English and art at the University of North Alabama and have painted most of my life; but more seriously in the last two years after studying under talented artist, Tim Stevenson. I have loved art since I held that first crayon between my fingers at the age of two.

I am a member of the Shoals Artist Guild and some of my work can be seen at the Kennedy-Douglass Art Center. I paint primarily in oil, but also do acrylic, watercolor, and specialize in colored pencil portraits. I take commissions for both oil and colored pencil portraits, or for anything else you may want painted. The "Pink Flower" painting is done with a technique I developed using acrylics and real flowers, creating a three- dimensional affect.

I have co-authored two books, written short stories, plus created my own line of comic greeting cards. I recently released my new novel, Led by the Spirit, a spine-tingling fictional book exposing the paranormal and ghosts for what they really are.
