Biography

A native Alaskan of Inupiaq descent, David Messer's childhood years were experienced overseas. Perhaps
it was the exotic imagery and experiences of far away places subconsciously embedded in his mind that sparked his passion for sketching at the age of six.

He has pursued drawing and technical illustrating since then, both professionally and as a hobby. Throughout youth and collegiate schooling, his course work led to a creative career including graphics design, photography, topographic design (photogrammetry), and computer aided design (CAD) drafting.

David's photographs and content
have been published on several
websites including AOLTM
.
His photography was recently included
in a national EPA publication.

He is now experimenting with mixed
media to include oil paintings, watercolors, and photographic
digital prints (
giclées).

"My art is best described as a capture of technical detail converted to a sense of free-flowing movement and vibrant colors."

"Drawing is like making an expressive gesture with the advantage of permanence."
