About Shawn Doughty, artist

I am a self taught artist currently residing in Athens, Alabama where I work as a full-time chemist and create my art on the side in my spare time. I recently came up with the concept of the "Who, What and Where State Art" series as it combined both my love of drawing and traveling.

The series began with the state of Kentucky and has grown into a total of six states which now includes, Alabama, Virginia, Indiana, Tennessee and Georgia. I have reproduced the orignal ink and colored pencil pieces into prints and postcards that are sold as tourism promotional pieces and as framed personal gifts. My artwork is currently offered through the Alabama Governor's Mansion Gift Shop in Montgomery, The Alabama Archives in Montgomery and Early Works/Constitution Village in Huntsville.
